The common chestnut tree (Castanea sativa) is a tree of the Fagaceae family that is very common in Europe and well known for its fruit. Its wood is rot-resistant and rich in tannins, and is used in carpentry and furniture making. Edge banding gives your furniture a finished look. Colour: Yellowish-white wood with a slight pinkish tinge. Coarse-grained wood. Uses for veneers: decorative panels, cabinet making. Available in a sanded finish.
